Michael Sowich Memorial Fallen Firefighters Fund |

Michael 'Mikey' Sowich, longtime member of the fire service through the Sherrill-Kenwood Fire Department and the New Hartford Fire Department, passed away March 2, 2007 while attending a training seminar at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Michael was a 16 year veteran of the fire service and had attained the position of State Fire Instructor for the Office of Fire Prevention and Control. In the Fall of 2007, the Michael Sowich Memorial Firefighter's Fund was created to enable all who knew Mikey to continue to honor his spirit of service to others by assisting both fallen firefighter's families and KEYS Kids. |

In memory of Mikey, the Michael Sowich Memorial Golf Outing is held in the Fall of each year. Team registration forms and sponsorship information is available in April of each year. If you would like to register a team for the outing, become a sponsor, make a donation to the Michael Sowich Memorial Firefighter's Fund, or know of a firefighter's family in need, please contact KEYS at 315-363-6446,
