Lessons vs therapy vs adaptive lessons?

A confusing title...probably the most confusing topic...but here it is, and easy way to know the difference between music lessons, music therapy, and adaptive lessons.

The KEYS Program is SO Excited to begin new program offerings in Fall 2023.....music lessons and Kindermusik group offerings....you heard that right, Music LESSONS and KINDERMUSIK Group offerings (ages 0-6) as an addition to our adaptive music lessons and music therapy sessions. With this new program and expansion, you may be wondering what plan works best for you?

.....I am here to make that decision an easy one for you....

MUSIC THERAPY

Music Therapy is the clinical & evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. Music therapy interventions can address a variety of healthcare & educational goals:

  • Promote Wellness

  • Manage Stress

  • Alleviate Pain

  • Express Feelings

  • Enhance Memory

  • Improve Communication

  • Promote Physical Rehabilitation

  • and more

ADAPTIVE MUSIC LESSONS

Adaptive music lessons are lessons that are uniquely tailored to the needs of the student. For someone who has difficulty learning in the traditional manner due to varying needs or abilities.

MUSIC LESSONS

Music lessons are a type of formal instruction in playing a musical instrument or singing.

I hope that helps. As always, if there are any questions about program offerings or if you just want to say hi, feel free to comment below, send a message, email or call.....info@thekeysprogram.org 315-363-6446.
